The Immigrant Book Club Co-Hosts

Jacqueline Ménoret & María Laura Ribadeneira

Jacqueline founded the Immigrant Book Club in 2020 in Paris, where readers meet and discuss novels relating to belonging, identity, and immigration. She graduated with a Master’s degree in Human Rights from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Jacqueline currently works in higher education. Passionate about literature and cinema, she loves to read at home in Belleville in the company of her cat, Olga Picasso. Don’t be fooled, her last name may be quite French, though she’s very American (snacks, peanut butter, and all)!

María Laura is an art book editor based in Paris. She obtained a Master’s degree in Art History and Museum Studies at the École du Louvre. Before relocating to Paris, María Laura grew up in Quito-Ecuador and studied at Vassar College (NY). Last year, she became a co-host of the Immigrant Book Club. Passionate about art and literature, María Laura’s bookshelves are filled with books in English, French, Spanish, and Italian. On a sunny day, she enjoys drinking rosé on a terrasse.
